Taking a Time Out

I don’t really understand why, but just in the last few hours I’ve gotten over 600 spam comments. [EDIT: 5,272 in the past two days] Has anyone else been experiencing an annoying increase? Akismet catches it all, thank god, but I never had a problem with it before. Anyway, I have to fix a few things with the site, so I’ll be taking a hiatus for a few days. Thanks for visiting though!

I’ve got LOADS of spam aswell! Glad that I’m not the only one, thought that it was just me being targeted lol. Thankfully Akismet has been catching it all

Gosh that is a lot of spam. I haven’t had something like that with my wordpress but how annoying must that be. Spam sucks.

I used to get that many before I installed Askimet but since I installed it it has only been like 150.

I installed one of those word verification dealies. That ridded me of my spam problem

i guess a lot of bots have been visiting your site try looking for plugins that blocks unwanted bots

Thank god for akismet! I had akismet disabled for a day and I couldn’t believe how much spam I would get. Akismet is my spam saver, never again will I go without it.

That’s weird because I’ve been seeing my friend’s sites with HUNDREDS of spam comments after like, an hour of making their post. I don’t know what going on with all this crap.. How you resolve it though

At best, I’ve had an average of 1 spam comment a day.

I close my stuff after two weeks, and I have akismtetaewhateveritis too.

Wow that is a lot of spam, the amount of spam I get has increased but it gets sent to my email address instead of my blog.

LMAO. That’s so much spam! I haven’t experienced anything like that, I do get spam but only 4 or 5 a month. Thank GOD for Akismet! It’s so reliable

Spam is not fun at all! I had that issue myself, but in a smaller proportion, but I installed a spam-catcher that makes everyone that comments type in the answer of an easy equation. That actually helps a lot!
